Grace Descends was photographed from a helicopter over the northern coast of Molokai during a trip marking my 25th wedding anniversary.
Rather than following the usual sunlit views, I asked the pilot to take us somewhere quieter. He brought us to the mist-covered cliffs near where Father Damien once cared for those suffering from leprosy.
As we hovered there, this scene revealed itself.
Dramatic, yet calming. Set apart.
It feels less like sorrow, and more like something beautiful being given.
It is the kind of image I return to often. Quiet, solemn, and peaceful. And while it holds the sorrow of that place, it holds something more than sorrow, too.
Grace descending.
Quietly. From above.
Pouring into the places most in need of it.
Bringing dignity, healing, and hope.

The frame adds to the finished outside dimensions.

Made to order
Museum Framing adds production time: please allow up to 10 weeks for printing, signing and framing before your artwork ships. If you need the work by a particular date, please contact the studio before ordering. Framed works ship fully assembled, with tracking, to addresses within the contiguous United States and Washington, DC; the largest framed sizes ship by freight, quoted individually. You will receive an email with a tracking number once it has shipped.
Caring for a framed print
Display away from direct, prolonged sunlight when possible. Clean the acrylic with a soft microfiber cloth and a household glass cleaner; do not use acrylic cleaners or polishing agents.
Made to order
Each print is made, inspected, signed and numbered before it ships. Please allow up to 3 weeks. Unframed prints are carefully packaged according to their size and materials. Larger prints may be shipped rolled in protective packaging. You will receive an email with a tracking number once it is on its way.
Caring for an unframed print
Handle the print by its edges, ideally with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves, and keep it in its protective packaging until framing. Store it flat, or as shipped, in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. When framing, use acid-free, archival materials and UV-protective glazing.
Returns
Standard unframed Open Edition and Limited Edition prints may be returned within 14 days of delivery. For a change-of-mind return, return shipping is paid by the customer; there is no restocking fee. Framed, custom-sized and commissioned pieces are final sale, except for damage, defects or a fulfillment error, and subject to applicable law.
Damaged, defective or incorrect orders
Please inspect your artwork on arrival. If anything is damaged, defective or incorrect, contact me within 14 days of delivery with photographs of the packaging and artwork, and I will arrange a replacement or refund. I typically respond within two business days.
