Studies in Form
Branches, bark, leaves and solitary trees, seen for their line and structure. Looked at closely, what first seems tangled settles into rhythm and order, a quiet reminder of the care written into ordinary things.
A crown of bare branches, roots gripping the ground, trunks standing close together, birch bark peeling in thin sheets. Each follows its own line.
Then closer still: a single blade of leaf, and the drops of water resting along it.
A group of birch trees stood out from thick undergrowth, their pale trunks behind a web of thin, crossing branches. The whole scene was dark and layered, inviting a closer look.
